- Nostalgia central - with cocktails & Scrabble -
Located in the fantastically handy Caledonian Road (just next to Kings Cross station), Drink, Shop & Do provides a great stopping off point between travelling jaunts to and from Kings Cross and beyond.
The lavishly decorated grand space came across as fun, without being too entrenched in vintage detail. The first reception room harks back to ‘Open All Hours’ sweet selling, with there being a varied array of boiled sweets kept behind the till. On moving further into the main reception, I was met with a fanfare of 40’s lounge music, gorgeous sunshine from the generous sky light and a cosy and inviting atmosphere.
After a quick glance around a large circular 1950’s white & glass wicker table was selected for us, which handily was laden with board games for us to play.
After staff friendly reeled off the deliciously in-depth list of cakes, I opted to order a Ruby Shoes cocktail (which was very tasty!) and have a round of scrabble with the rest of my party.
The sunny, up-beat and inclusive demeanour of Drink, Shop & Do makes it a top-notch destination for those that like a natter and a bite. I for one will be very excited to have my hen-do here in early September, enjoying their afternoon for tea for 2 for a bargainous £11 per person.
